Sundt celebrates two years in Texas with charitable gifts

Tucson, Ariz.-based Sundt Construction Inc. is celebrating its two-year anniversary in Texas by giving back to a trio of charitable organizations based in the Lone Star State.

The general contractor has awarded a total of $9,500 in grants to two local organizations, The Children?s Shelter and San Antonio Metropolitan Ministries (SAMMinistries); and to Fort Worth-based Community Enrichment Inc.

The grants come from the Sundt Foundation, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is funded by employees of Sundt Construction.

The Children?s Shelter has received a $4,000 grant from the Sundt Foundation. The money will go toward the organization?s Project Bucks program ? a performance-based initiative for families served by the Children?s Shelter.

SAMMinistries has received a $3,000 donation for its Residential Gateway to Services program. This program provides living spaces and support services to families trying to break the cycle of homelessness.

A grant of $2,500 has been awarded to the Community Enrichment Center in Fort Worth ? an organization that helps homeless families and victims of violence.

Sundt?s Texas operations are headquartered in San Antonio. The firm also has an office in El Paso that serves as the hub for the firm?s work in West Texas.

Over the past two years, the Texas branch of the Sundt Foundation has donated more than $120,000 to local charities ? including the Ronald McDonald House; Morgan?s Wonderland; the San Antonio Library Foundation; Mission Road Ministries; and the 100 Club of San Antonio, which serves law enforcement and firefighters in Bexar County.

?We?re thrilled to be celebrating two years of helping children and families in Texas,? says John Carlson, senior vice president and Texas district manager for Sundt Construction. ?And as part of the Texas community, Sundt Construction is deeply committed to (supporting) the development of our cites and (to helping) those in need. We are proud to support Texas charities that are also dedicated to this goal.?
